As Christmas draws near, ROCC has once again renewed its commitment to communities across the UK through its partnerships scheme. This season, we have joined forces with a range of incredible charities and community organisations to spread festive cheer where it matters most.

ROCC’s festive work reflects a long-standing culture of care and social responsibility that we take very seriously. We fully believe that Christmas isn’t just a date on the calendar. It’s a chance to reach out, support those in need and build stronger, kinder communities together.

With this in mind, we want to share some of the fantastic work carried out by these organisations and how ROCC is doing its bit to support them.

The Centre Project

The Centre Project is a local charity based in Leicester City Centre that supports vulnerable people in the community. They aim to reach those who are most excluded from society to reduce isolation and promote wellbeing.

This charity provides a place where “those who are alone and socially isolated can find acceptance, a sense of belonging and renewed purpose.” Their holistic support services include social activities, a food bank, youth club sessions and efforts to prevent homelessness.

ROCC has been proudly supporting them to keep these essential services available over the Christmas period.

Circus Starr

Circus Starr brings all the fun of the circus to children with additional needs and families in difficult circumstances. They tour the UK with the very best in circus talent from around the world, staging 148 accessible shows every year.

Their show-stopping events are aimed at children with disabilities, families on low incomes, those facing challenges such as domestic violence, bereavement or who may be living with a life-limiting condition – “every child, whoever they are, is free to be themselves at a Circus Starr Show.”

We have had a long-running partnership with Circus Starr and regularly support them. This year, we are pleased to be helping 15 children attend the Circus Starr event in our hometown of Brighton.

Fife Gingerbread

Fife Gingerbread provides accessible, approachable and non-judgemental support to lone parents and families in need across Fife. They seek to empower lone parents and families to promote their wellbeing and opportunities “for better todays and brighter tomorrows.”

They do this by offering holistic support through their various projects, including Make it Work for Lone Parents, Family Approach, Early Years Collective, Child Maintenance Support and so much more.

We are supporting Fife Gingerbread with critical funding to help them continue to provide their amazing services over the Christmas period.

Hackney Doorways

Hackney Night Shelter is a Hackney Doorways project that has worked with the local community to provide shelter and support to homeless guests for over 25 years. Their vision is to create “routes out of homelessness for people in need.”

Open 365 days a year, they provide emergency shelter and hot meals, along with structured individual plans to help their guests move into longer-term accommodation.

ROCC has been supporting Hackney Doorways with grocery shopping for essentials, laundry and cleaning for their 20-bed shelter.

The Lunch Club

The Lunch Club is a charity that aims to provide freshly cooked lunches to people in need in Streatham and the surrounding area. They are a relatively new charity looking to make a big difference to the local community.

Their goal is to “tackle food poverty and social isolation by offering a welcoming environment where people can enjoy a nutritious meal and socialise with others.”

To help, we have provided funding for meat and fish to support nutritious meals for vulnerable individuals.

The Lyde Green Community Association

The Lyde Green Community Association is a centre run by volunteers to foster community spirit and make Lyde Green a great place to live and visit. They offer a choice of facilities suitable for a wide range of leisure and community activities.

As well as organising community events, they “work with local partners to influence issues that matter to the residents of Lyde Green.”

We have been working alongside the Lyde Green Community Centre for years, supporting the Christmas for Kids event to provide presents for local children.

Commenting on the Christmas partnerships, Peter Luck, Managing Director, ROCC, said: “At its heart, Christmas is a reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can light up someone’s world.

“It’s a time when communities come together, proving that compassion and connection can make a meaningful difference.

“We’re proud to stand alongside our partners in helping that light shine a little brighter for those who need it most. Their tireless work inspires us every day, and we remain committed to supporting them.”
