We were delighted to attend Housing 24 in Manchester last month, where the housing and wider living sector came together to discuss, collaborate and identify solutions to tackle the current housing crisis. More than 9,000 attendees and 500 speakers gathered for the three-day event, which welcomed over 350 exhibitors from the housing community, including ROCC.

The team engaged with the largest number of people they’ve ever spoken to at an event, demonstrating how ROCC can help to optimise their repairs and maintenance processes.

There were also plenty of excellent speakers listed in this year’s programme, who talked about some of the key issues impacting the housing sector. One of those speakers was Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, who emphasised the role of local solutions and how they can help in addressing the housing crisis.

Andy also discussed the necessary actions the sector must undertake if it wants to meet housing needs and shared how housing can positively impact people’s lives.

Other key topics that were debated across the event included:

  • Damp and mould detection and how to ensure the sector complies with Awabbs Law
  • The mental wellbeing of tenants and how the sector can support them
  • Empowering resident engagement
  • The future of housing
  • Supporting tenants through the cost of living crisis
  • Housing as a community anchor
  • The promises and challenges of Artificial Intelligence within the sector
  • Building and fire safety
  • Methods for delivering low-carbon neighbourhoods

Speaking to existing partners and potential new clients, we were pleased with the positive feedback and interest we received. We came away from the event with a whole host of new connections and gained a lot from the knowledge and insights shared by like-minded professionals in the housing sector.

Commenting on the event, Matt Watts, Head of Customer Success, ROCC, said: “Housing 24 was an excellent opportunity for the entire sector to come together to discuss some of the most pressing issues impacting our industry.

“As an organisation, we benefitted enormously from the experience and really enjoyed having a platform to shout about the excellent work we do at ROCC and be involved in important conversations about the future of housing.

“We now look forward to taking the momentum gained from Housing 24 forward and exploring new opportunities to ensure our clients receive the best housing maintenance solution on the market.”
