ROCC and BHT First Base in Corporate Partnership
ROCC are delighted to announce an innovative corporate partnership with BHT First Base, a charity working with people who are homeless in Sussex.
Commenting Luke Aldrich, ROCC Chief Executive says ‘We are always interested in helping in the local community. BHT’s First Base is a great project with a great success record. As a business that works in the Housing space it gives us great insight into some of the considerable difficulties for people who have fallen off the housing radar for various reasons. ROCC hope to help in a small way by Fundraising but also by offering practical assistance such as Work Orientation Days to try and normalise coming back to work for those that can and want to. It’s an evolving partnership which we hope both sides will benefit from.’
Simon Hughes Operational Manager of BHT First Base says “We are really pleased to be working in partnership with ROCC. Lots of our clients are ready to start work but face many barriers that prevent them from securing employment. The ROCC work orientation days alongside our Big Lottery Funded work and learning project we provide at First Base already will help our clients enormously. We are looking forward to getting started.”
BHT First Base operates in the centre of Brighton for the provision of support to assist people who are homeless or vulnerably housed in Brighton and Hove to move on from the streets or insecure accommodation and realise their aspirations. Every week we support many people to move away from living on the streets but every week more people end up on the streets of Brighton and Hove.
Several services run from First Base including our Big Lottery Funded First Impressions Project (work and learning service), CCG funded PASH (promotional and awareness of sexual health), Heritage Lottery Funded Heritage Project (heritage and cultural activities), and our self- funding Social Enterprise companies Dine (catering) and BHT Retail (on-line store).
